Coil Building with Annie

In this workshop you’ll learn to make a coil pot with Annie Raysse @annierayssepottery. We’ll do some sketching to brainstorm shapes and then start with pinch pots and move on to building up with coils. You'll learn how to shape and mold your pots into any design you like, and we'll aim to make vessels up to 10 inches tall. It’s super fun and versatile, get excited!!!

Lunch Break: 12-1pm We suggest you bring lunch or snacks to the workshop. You may take only a 30 minute break. This is completely up to you.

Indigo expresses her feelings best through art. She creates characters that subtly convey her emotions, serving as a record of her experiences. In this interactive workshop, Indigo will share her hand-building skills, face expression carving techniques, and decoration methods.

The demonstrations will cover the step-by-step process of constructing the head, torso, arms, and hands. Additionally, Indigo will reveal techniques for enhancing the clarity and expression of clay figures. Students will have the opportunity to explore various ways of coiling, shaping, and coloring and have their sculptures bisque-fired.

To join this class we ask that participants have the knowledge of handbuilding basic shapes
