Body Mechanics on the Wheel is a 2.5–3 hour interactive workshop led by HanaKyle Moranz. HanaKyle is a NYC-based massage therapist and personal trainer of nearly 20 years and a potter herself. She has led this workshop six times to great reviews, and we’re thrilled to be her first LA stop!
Here is what past participants say:
“My wrists don’t hurt anymore when I wedge!”

This is the kind of workshop that changes how you feel at the wheel for good.

Join us for this two-part specialty workshop to learn the fundamentals of plaster mold making. Students will create a two-part mold from an original ceramic piece or object while gaining an understanding of plaster mixing and slip casting basics. This is perfect for ceramicists looking to learn how to create duplicates of their work more efficiently.
Participants will keep their mold at the end of the workshop and will have access to a limited amount of B-Mix slip in the studio.
- This workshop focuses on simple, small to medium forms and is not intended for complex, multi-part molds.
-All materials for creating the mold are included. Students can also special-order a gallon of slip through the studio after the workshop.
- Students must bring one original simple pot, which must be approved by Malika prior to August 22nd.
- Disclaimer: Please note that original forms may be compromised during the mold-making process.
